Overcoming Barriers Through Education: The Story of Kim Ravit
ខែមីនា 13, 2026

Mr. Kim Ravit, 22 years old, is originally from Pursat Province, Cambodia. He is currently a first-year student majoring in Information Technology (IT) at the Royal University of Phnom Penh (RUPP). Coming from a provincial area, Ravit moved to Phnom Penh to pursue his higher education and currently rents a small room near the university so that he can attend his classes more easily every day.
Ravit’s life journey has not been easy. He is a student who was born without both hands, which means he faces many challenges in his daily life as well as in his academic journey. Many simple tasks that others can complete easily require extraordinary effort, patience, and determination for him. However, his physical disability has never stopped him from pursuing his dream of education. Instead, it has become a powerful motivation that drives him to work harder and move forward with courage.
Living away from his hometown also presents financial and personal challenges. Adjusting to life in the capital while managing his studies requires resilience and perseverance. Nevertheless, Ravit remains focused on his goals and continues to move forward with optimism and dedication.

Ravit’s story highlights the importance of inclusive education and equal opportunities for all students. His determination serves as a powerful reminder that disability does not define a person’s potential. With the right support and opportunities, individuals can overcome barriers and pursue their aspirations.
Through stories like Ravit’s, the project seeks to highlight the importance of supporting students facing challenges and promoting access to education, inclusion, and empowerment.
